Sunway Pyramid, here we come!

Assalamualaikum!


Today, we're gonna hear a dialoggue of a plans to go somewhere.

     At the playground...

Syakirah   :   Hey guys, do you all have free time this weekend? Because I want to ask you to go
                    somewhere.

Adilah       :   Well, Aqilah and I are free this weekend.

Hani          :   Me too.

Khadijah   :   Me neither. How about we go to Sunway Pyramid? There are many activities we can do
                    there.

Syakirah   :   Uuu... Sunway Pyramid?? That's sounds fantastic. We can go skating there.

Hani          :   And we can play archery and many more.

Aqilah       :   Also, we can shopping a lot of stuff there.

Adilah       :   Sister, why do you always mention about shopping?

Aqilah       :   What?? I'm only said once about shopping.

Syakirah   :   So, are you all agree that we will go to Sunway Pyramid?

All            :   Yes.

Syakirah   :   Remember, this is only our plan. Get your parents permission first before we go to
                    Sunway Pyramid, okay?

All            :   Absolutely.

Khadijah   :   Wait a minute. Who will fetch and take us to Sunway Pyramid?

Hani         :   I think my driver can take us to Sunway Pyramid because he's not too busy this weekends.

Adilah       :   Great. First, we'll gather at Syakirah's house at 10.00 a.m.. Is that okay, Syakirah?

Syakirah   :   Okay, no problem. What's next?

Aqilah       :   Then, we'll go to Sunway Pyramid from 10.15 a.m. to 3.00 p.m.. Agreed?

All            :   Okay.

Khadijah   :   Oh, just on time. My mother has coming. See you all tomorrow for futher plans.
                     Assalamualaikum, goodbye.

All            :   Waalaikumussalam, goodbye.

Words of idioms!

Bismillah,
Assalamualaikum!

 An idiom is an expression consisting of a combination of words that has a figurative meaning. The figurative meaning is comprehended in regard to a common use of the expression that is separate from the literal meaning or definition of the words of which it is made. Idioms are numerous and they occur frequently in all languages. There are estimated to be at least 25,000 idiomatic expressions in the English language.

 That is the introduction of idiom. Very long right? Now we will share some of idiom with its meaning and example.

                       Education and School

Goof off
- to waste time.
My sister spent most of the week goofing off and was not prepared for her test. 

Hit the books
- to begin to study hard.
After relaxing all weekend I hit the books on Sunday evening. 

Honor roll
- a list of people or students with exceptional achievements.
My neighbour was on the honor roll during his last year in high school. 

Make the grade
- to be satisfactory and of an expected level.
My final assignment did not make the grade and I had to do it again. 

University of life
- the daily life and work where you learn more than from going to university.
My grandfather began to work on the family farm when he was fourteen and learned everything from the university of life.

                        Nature

A drop in the ocean
-If an amount is a drop in the ocean, it's a very small portion of the amount that's needed.
A ray of sunshine
-Something is a ray of sunshine if it brings happiness to someone.

Make hay while the sun shines
-If you make hay while the sun shines, you make good use of the chance to do something while it lasts.
Neck of the woods
-A neck of the woods is a neighbourhood or a district, usually rural.

Under a cloud
-If someone is under a cloud, they are suspected of having done something wrong.

                             Animal

A night owl
-You're a night owl if you like to stay up and do things late at night.

A whale of a time
-If you have a whale of a time, you have a great time and really enjoy yourself.

Drink like a fish
-If someone drinks like a fish, they drink a lot of alcohol.

Eyes like a hawk
-If someone has eyes like a hawk, they have very good eyesight and they notice everything.

Let the cat out of the bag
-If you let the cat out of the bag, you let someone know a secret.
